Adult Daysailer is taught at Saylorville Lake on our Catalina 27. This 15 hour weekend long course will teach basic sailing skills on a large daysailer. Our boat is conveniently docked in a slip at Saylorville Marina.
You will learn sailing terminology, raising, lowering and reducing sail, knot tying, stopping and starting under sail, leaving and returning to the dock or mooring, tacking and jibing, overboard recovery, operation of the engine, and maneuvering under power.
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to confidently skipper or crew a similarly sized boat. All classes are taught by certified US Sailing instructors.
Who should take this course?
